About Days of Change

Days of Change will provide a means by which young people can take control and do something positive about climate changeThe time has come for us all to take personal action on climate change by making simple changes to the way we live every day.

During March 2010, every Western Australian will be asked to commit to these changes by taking the Days of Change pledge.

More than a vague promise, individuals will use the Days of Change pledge card to commit to their choice of 1 or more practical changes they can do in the home, at work or in their daily habits.

Thousands of these cards will be printed, providing an ongoing, tangible reminder of their commitment.

People making pledges will be provided with easy to follow and practical instructions (text and video) on how to implement the changes.

Supported by the power of electronic marketing and social networking, the Days of Change program is expected to engage the community and cut emissions on a scale never before seen in Western Australia.

Expansion through the global reach of the Rotary International organisation will see the program reach 100 million people by 2012, with 16 million people actively involved. This will contribute to a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions of more than 2.5 million tonnes.

93% of Western Australians have already indicated that they are willing to take personal action to combat climate change. This program will help them to take that action.
